This one of a kind amulet features a lovely dark Banded Agate accented with a juicy orange Hessonite Garnet gemstone. These gems are set by hand using cold forging techniques in USA made copper that has been antiqued with sterling silver accents. I make all my pendants from scratch, each one takes many hours to create and each is a labor of love.
This pendant measures 3.75 inches tall (9.5cm) and 1.9 inches at its widest point (4.8cm). It comes on 26 inch adjustable dark grey cotton cord that is made using recycled material from the fashion industry.
Banded Agate can be found in a variety of colors, typically in earthier shades of red, brown and black tones with alternating white layers. Agate is a type of Chalcedony which is when the silica that typically makes quartz crystals forms in a micro crystalline structure rather than the six sided structure most think of as traditional crystals. As the crystal forms over time it creates layers that make the alternating colors we call banding. This gemstone is known to enhance mental clarity, emotional stability and offer protection for the wearer. It is said to bring a sense of calm, peace and balancing of the mind.
The name Hessonite Garnet refers to the shades of the gemstone that are more on the orange color spectrum than the traditional deep red. Geologically it is the same gemstone and forms the same way. Hessonite Garnet is often referred to as the cinnamon stone for its warm rich colors. This gem is said to bring luck, prosperity and abundance. It is associated to the root chakra and is known to inspire wisdom.
